Brian Azzarello and Cliff Chiang’s take on WONDER WOMAN is a refreshing take on the embattled Amazon Princess. More horror than anything else, I found it a fitting milieu considering the capricious nature of the classical mythological gods and goddesses.
While I love the gods and goddesses and monters and myth, I will be curious to see how this take on Diana and her world will translate to her costumed foes–Cheetah, Dr. Psycho, Dr. Poison, etc.–could all qualify as horrific in Azzarello’s hands.
I’m pleased (pants or no pants.) And I want more (pants or no pants.) All great signs for what could be a transformative run for the most influential superheroine of all time (pants or no pants.)
